Our final day in the US started with a short walk across the road from the hotel, followed by a team stretch.

The final day of training began after an early lunch at the team hotel, with training taking place at the new time of 4pm at the Catholic University.
Thursday began with the players and coaching staff emerging from their bedrooms shortly before lunchtime having only arrived back from Miami at around 5.30am local time. They were given a free morning ahead of a 1pm lunch, with training beginning at 5pm.
There was an early start on Wednesday with a flight to catch and a European giant to face in Miami, and the two-hour journey from DC to Florida passed quietly, with one or two snapping pictures out of the window as we approached our destination city.
The squad awoke on Tuesday morning to discover it had rained overnight, bringing a welcome freshness to the Washington air, which had been feeling a little humid.
Following Sunday’s win against AC Milan in New Jersey, and the subsequent late arrival back in Washington, it was with relief we could look at Monday’s schedule to see a free morning with optional breakfast for the players.
A 45-minute flight separates Washington’s Dulles Airport with Newark Airport, and that is the journey the squad made for our game against AC Milan on Sunday…
After a few sizzling days in the States, it was rather refreshing to wake up on Saturday morning with a bit of drizzle filling the Washington air.
