Paris, France’s capital, the ‘city of love’, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Champs-Élysées… And for us, at least this week, the city where we play for three key points in our way to the World Cup.
A few weeks ago, as I told you, I spent a few days in this wonderful metropolis of arts and culture; now, I’m on a very different kind of trip. I’m writing to you from my hotel’s room, the same hotel we were at a few years ago when we played a friendly match against the ‘Bleus’. I keep good memories of that victory and I hope we can win again this time.
The match is even more important after the draw against Finland in Gijón last Friday. My stay in Asturias ended with a bittersweet taste in my mouth because of that goal they scored in the last few minutes of the game. It was really nice to go home and enjoy the company of my family and friends, at least for a few hours, but it would have been much better if we had won the three points…
