As I write this I’m still excited after the team’s comeback against Southampton. One of those victories that boost your morale. It means a lot to me, especially because of the strength you’ve sent to me before and after the game. Being able to win this way, at the Bridge and in front of such a good squad as they are -one of the top teams in the Premier right now-, is always significant, especially when you are on the pitch to help the team. I felt really well during the game and I’m happy for helping my team to win.
The truth is that Southampton showed why they are the surprise success story in the Premiership this season. We allowed them to score an early goal so we had to double our efforts. We created good chances in the first half but we couldn’t take them. After the break, we were a solid team and we managed to score three nice goals. One of them from our captain, in his 400th Premier League game with Chelsea, showing one of his strengths: a fantastic header. He deserves it. As a reward we got the three points to stand second, four points behind Arsenal. They don’t slow down but there’s still a lot to come; it’s been a good weekend for us.
