Games coming thick and fast

Chelsea Ladies FC v Arsenal Ladies FC - The FA WSL

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their support at our first FA WSL game against Arsenal. We had 2510 people turn up, which is a new record!

I felt we deserved at least a draw out of the game. Arsenal’s a side that has dominated women’s football in recent years and we matched them in every department and created more chances. But similar to the FA Cup game against Doncaster Rovers Belles, we didn’t take our chances and it cost us.

We now have four games in 10 days. First is Lincoln at home on Thursday 21 April with a 7:45pm kick-off and the next is Doncaster Rovers Belles away on Sunday 24 April at 2pm. The last two are Liverpool and Bristol Academy away, on Sunday 1 May and Wednesday 4 May respectively.

The Women’s Super League has been a long time in coming and the games are now thick and fast. Our target before a tough match against Birmingham City is four wins!

We are hopeful Drew Spence will be fit for Lincoln but that may be too soon and Doncaster on Sunday is looking more realistic. We are also in talks with an England U23 forward to come in on loan so I’m hopeful that will be sorted in the next 48 hours.

We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday night.

Beardie
